Pathway 02
Institutional registration
This is the pathway for universities, laboratories, schools and public bodies. It grants reading and corroboration rights — deliberately not the right to place anyone on the record.
The form below is the real institutional first step, exactly as it will be asked. In this preview it is checked in your own browser and goes no further — no account is created, nothing is transmitted, and nothing is kept once you close the tab.
Register your institution
Two blocks of questions: the institution, and the person who can act for it. Only six answers are required — the rest sharpen how your students and researchers are matched, and every one of them can be filled in later.
What happens after this form
An institutional account is reviewed by a person before it is granted anything, because the powers it carries are worth protecting.
-
Your address is verified on the institution’s domain
A code goes to the institutional address you gave. A personal address cannot stand in for an institutional one, because the address is the first piece of evidence that you speak for the institution rather than about it.
-
The institution itself is checked
Registration, accreditation and domain are examined by a person, not a script. Where an institution already exists on YoureNX, your request is matched to it rather than creating a duplicate — and the existing account holder is told.
-
Corroboration rights are granted category by category
A university may confirm enrolment, results and supervision; it may not confirm a patent it had no part in. Rights follow competence, so each category is granted separately and can be narrowed later.
-
Colleagues are added under your accountability
Further staff can be invited, each named and each acting in their own name. Every confirmation carries the person who made it and the date they made it, and the person concerned can contest any of them.
What an institutional account can and cannot do
- Can corroborate
- Confirm evidence it is competent to judge, in its own name and on a date. This is the power the pathway exists to grant, and it is what moves a record from Evidence submitted to Evidence verified.
- Can read
- See records their holders have made institutionally visible, and search discovery for the fields and regions it works in.
- Cannot add anyone
- An institution cannot create a person’s record, and cannot register on someone’s behalf. Only the person can do that, through the individual pathway.
- Cannot edit
- Corroboration is a statement the institution signs, not an edit it performs. No institution can alter a record it did not author, and no institution can withdraw a person’s own evidence.
- Cannot read the invisible
- Nothing an individual has kept private is visible to an institution, including institutions they have named as their own.
Not the pathway you need?
If you are registering as a person, use the individual pathway. If you are a company, innovation hub or investor with roles, funding or facilities to place, use the industry partner pathway — it asks for what you are looking for rather than what you can confirm.
